About WE-CARE
WE-CARE Foundation, Inc., a Liberian based educational non-profit organization, was established in 1992 and incorporated in 1994. Its fund-raising arm was founded and incorporated in 1992 in Minnesota, USA where many Liberians sought refuge from the 14 years of civil war in their country.
WE-CARE was created to address the atrocities of the Liberian 14- year civil war which led to the destruction of the education sector of the country. It started in the heat of the war as a book chain delivering books to the people lockdown in their homes as the result of the dusk to dawn curfew. Today, it continues with the WE-CARE Library and is helping to strengthen the education sector of Liberia by:
• Providing quality learning materials,
• Procurement of educational materials
• Promoting creative training and teaching skills.
WE-CARE’S vision is to create a society of readers and writers by providing quality education for all. Her greatest strength is the leading role she plays in providing relevant high quality educational services in Liberia, through strong partnerships with both local and internationals organizations. Presently, she operates in 12 of the 15 counties in Liberia, interacting with more than 50,000 direct beneficiaries, utilizing its team of 72 full and part time qualified and dedicated staff and trainers working at the college, high school, primary and Early Childhood Education levels in Liberia.
